Product Update January 2023 - What’s New in Instruqt
Kickstart the new year with Instruqt! We're excited to bring you updates on awesome features that help you save costs and make content creation a breeze.
This month’s round-up of exciting product updates includes:
Our new cost-saving feature - ‘idle time’, is now customizable to support your demo needs
Save costs and maximize your demo experience by using the now customizable idle timeout feature. Sales and presales can adjust the idle timeout based on their demo needs.
New sandbox setup wizard
You may have noticed the platform is going through a major makeover. Today the sandbox management UI finally got its moment to shine. Try out the improved track creation wizard for a unified and simple editing and sandbox configuration experience.
Save time and effort with our simplified VM setup
No more sifting through an array of machine types. Now easily choose your machine type with small, medium, or large presets or create your own custom setting. Each VM size comes pre-packaged with customizable CPU and Memory settings.
Sandbox management & logs
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and control, we have added exciting new features that allow teams to gain insights into their sandboxes. These tools provide detailed logs, giving users the ability to adjust Time-To-Live (TTL) settings for instances. You can filter by Tracks, Hot Start Invites & Users. These are all accessible on your team page. Additionally, we’ve integrated the Sandbox Management UI in the Live Event dashboard, so you can easily monitor and troubleshoot sandboxes during a workshop as well.
Design time-bound experiences with ease
Based on feedback from users, we’ve made it simpler for content creators to set time limits on their tracks and challenges. We're committed to giving content makers the ultimate control and flexibility they need for success. Learn more with our documentation.
Simplified Hot Start creation
It’s now possible to schedule a Hot Start pool for any given Track Invite. This will save you time when planning a workshop for example. To do so, click ‘Create Hot Start’ from the Invites overview, fill in the number of instances needed and you’re done! We’ll make sure everything spins up on time. Additionally, we’ve added the option to duplicate Hot Start pools, so that re-using (expired) pools is now possible as well.
Anonymous access on Live Events
We’ve enabled the ‘anonymous access’ option for Live Events. This is useful in case you simply don’t need or want to collect any personal information when running a workshop. Attendees will appear as ‘Anonymous attendee X’ on the dashboard.
Improved Editor UI (What You See Is What You Get)
Introducing our improved editor UI. You can now style your track descriptions, note screens and assignments all with the click of a button. No more needing to check cheat sheets or be a markdown magician.
And the magic doesn’t stop there…
- The editor now comes with more space and the ability to write in full screen mode.
- And best of all, a preview that shows you what your content looks like for your end users.
